Jim Edmonds smashed 3 homeruns and had 6 RBI and Jarrod Washburn went the distance as the phenomenal Detroit Iron Gloves crushed the hopeless Chainsaw Proctologists 22 to 2. Edmonds really 'lit it up' for Detroit. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 1st inning, stroked a base-hit in the 3rd inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 4th inning, stroked a one-base hit in the 6th inning and rifled a three-run blast (his 46th of the season) in the 8th inning. Detroit lit up the scoreboard in the 8th inning when they had 13 runs on 10 hits. Detroit simply wore out the Chainsaw pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings. Washburn(10-3) allowed 2 runs on the game. Jose Contreras(7-16) was hit with the loss. 'Actually, I didn't feel that comfortable at the plate today' Edmonds said after the game. 'Despite that, I'm happy with the results!
